Every date is computed from the Sun and the Moon for the place entered. An Ekadasi is the eleventh tithi at sunrise, taking the second day when it runs at two sunrises. A Pradosham is the Trayodasi running at sunset, and Sani Pradosham is one that falls on a Saturday. Sankatahara Chaturthi is the Krishna Chaturthi running at sunset, kept until the moon is seen. Pournami and Amavasai are the full and new moons at sunrise, Sashti is the Shukla Sashti, and Masa Sivarathri is the Krishna Chaturdasi running at true midnight. Karthigai is the nakshatra at sunrise. Each row prints the rule that produced it, so it can be compared with the family's printed panchangam; a printed almanac can differ by a day where it reads a tithi at a different instant.
